Temple Solel is a Reform Congregation serving the North County Coastal Jewish Community of San Diego, dedicated to promoting Jewish community and continuity through study, prayer, and acts of justice and loving-kindness. We are committed to our community, the State of Israel, and Jews around the world. Founded in 1978, Temple Solel now serves 700 families throughout the County. Our Confirmation year centers around a pivotal ten-day trip to Israel together! The fall semester offers a deep dive into religious and cultural issues surrounding Israel today. In the spring, we take our travel experiences back home to enrich our conversations around the complexities of Zionism, antisemitism, and Jewish communal and social issues in our times. Our Hartman Leadership program explores themes of belief and morality as manifest in our day-to-day lives. How do we define our Judaism? What drives our decisions? How does Jewish practice inform our choices, influence our actions, and frame our identity in adulthood? Through documentaries, dinner, and discussion, we find our own voices and expressions – together. Also included in this year is the trip to explore history, community, and culture in Jewish New York!
Starting July 1, 2021, the San Diego Jewish Teen Initiative will be transitioning under the new direction of the Jewish Federation of San Diego County. If you have any questions regarding community partners, grants, or offerings, please reach out to Molly Okun, Donor Engagement Manager.
